So this weekend we drove all the way to Fort Worth Texas to the Texas Motor Speedway for Together 2018. I have to be completely honest I didn't know what to expect because I have never been to a evangelical event before. What I knew about this event was what my family told me about it when they went to this back in 2016 in Washington DC.
So here is a little history on this event to gain perspective on what it is; Similar to today, 1970s America experienced a culturally tense time. Young Christians responded with Explo ’72, a Jesus Movement gathering in Dallas to equip, pray, and worship. Forty-four years later, hundreds of thousands of Christians gathered at the National Mall in D.C. for Together 2016. This was the largest Christian event in the history of the US in decades.
The objective of this event is to call out for hope and change in Jesus. Together 2018 did the same for the movement of today. On October 20-21, 2018, Together 2018 was the largest evangelical event held in Dallas/Ft. Worth since Explo in 1972 with Dr. Billy Graham -More than 45 speakers and artists were scheduled for the day-and-a-half event at Texas Motor Speedway -Hosted by Nick Hall and Pulse, it's a millennial-led evangelism and prayer movement based out of Minneapolis.
I'm so blessed to have been at this event and I know Gods hand was involved every step of the way. From the moment I got there I knew it's where I needed to be. I met so many artist and people that love God with all their heart! There will be a Together 2020 held somewhere in the U.S, so keep your eye out. It's a free event but loaded with so many Artist and Speakers that you would think it'd be $100 a person to get in. All I know is God is great, the atmosphere was great and you should definitely go to the Together 2020 event!
